Rook Pedestal

This group project for our 3D Construction class focused on designing and fabricating a pedestal to display an object or product. We chose a chess board as our featured object. Drawing inspiration from stacked wood sculptures, our design concept centers around creating a dynamic, see-through pedestal in the shape of a chess piece. We made 25 circular layers from MDF board, each CNC cut and separated by 1 inch blocks, creating a layered semi transparent structure.
